HRAI: Residential Heat Loss/Heat Gain Calculations (Oct 7 to 30)

This 4-day course is based on the CSA F280-12 (R2021) “Determining the Required Capacity of Residential Space Heating and Cooling Appliances” a nationally recognized standard which is referenced by all Canadian Building Codes.
This course takes students through step-by-step calculations to help them determine the required or appropriate appliances after understanding the heat loss and heat gain in the building envelope. The calculation includes examining above- and below-grade HLHG, air leakage, and ventilation, as well as the influence that people, appliances, and window shading have on the system.
